You guys put out some good written work. We use it frequently off the AP Wire. Never seen your printed stuff, though. I would love to apply but I started back to school in August after being laid off and wouldn't be available until the middle of December. If you didn't need me before then, I will gladly send in a resume and samples.

Jeff, you just never know. But one thing I'm lacking right now are many names of people who're out there. If I'm familiar with you, that might coem in handy later, if not now.

Great shop, great staff and Henry is one of the best to work with/for.

I have a great gig now, but if I was even slightly unhappy with my current position I would be all over this.

Best of luck to whoever fills the seat and for Henry finding the right fit.

Thanks! (Don't know who that is, but I should have to buy them lunch.)

This is a great staff and leader to work for. If not for the realization in the last couple of years that my passion is more on the writing side I'd throw my name into the pool. I love this part of the country and intended on heading south years ago until family illness became priority. All the best to the lucky desk lover that lands this gig.

The Daily Journal has the best section in Mississippi. If it had the state-wide circulation the C-L has, more folks would realize it.

You want this job. Believe me. John's great to work for/with, the paper is in great shape and the sports section is excellent.

Many times I wonder what's going on on the desk in Tupelo.

    Tupelo's a solid town, too.

One nice thing about the paper I learned when I interviewed back during reconstruction - the family that owned the paper "sold" it to a community foundation that runs it as a sort of public trust. Nothing's guaranteed anymore, but that's as secure an ownership as you could realisticly hope for.
