    Well...Let's see....

The University of Illinois will want to get rid of the "last Vestiges" of Chief Illiniwek, but will keep the Fighting Illini nickname. Follow the link for details: http://wbbm780.com/pages/300013.php?contentType=4&contentId=371647

    Anybody see this as either:

    A) Political Correctness.
    B) Political Correctness and stupidity
    C) Political Correctness, stupidity, and Hypocrisy
    D) Something Else (your option here)

I did not put this on the poll page because I am attempting sarcasm here, gang.

    Your thoughts?
  2. You mean, other than hypocrisy being spelled wrong? :D

The correct answer for letter c) is NCAA.

Time to pack away the t-shirts with the Chief image on them. Can sell those in a few years as collector's items and make a mint on them, kind of like the guys who bought Manhattan from those ...

    Oooops.....Forgot to spellcheck.....

But yes, other than my poor spelling.
  5. I have my blue Illini hoodie that I wear regularly. I only wish I had bought a Marquette hoodie before the name change. Golden Eagles, my ass.

Answer D, their way of thanking the ncaa for the sham of a tourney bid.

Hopefully, the Chief shows up in Columbus, gets a moment of camera time, and yells, "Kiss my ass, you NCAA whores" into the mike.

You can't buy any of the suggestions that it's "respectful" or somehow "honors" native Americans once you've seen the dance. It's so hokey it's hysterical.

    Good riddance.

I hope when they finally remove my last vestiges, I am not conscious.
