don't let the cabbie take the freeway from mccarran to your hotel.

you probably also dont need to go to any of the topless 'european' pools on the strip (america, apparently, does not own any mirrors) -- but the rio has strippers working their's.

check the table rules before sitting at blackjack -- crappy rules have spread up and down the strip.

Most table are now the must hit on soft 17 variety. Sucks, but they figured out a way to push up the vig. Also, the payout for blackjack in one- or two-deck tables is 6-to-5, not 3-2.

A cab ride to the Sahara from the Airport shouldn't cost more than $18-20. Make sure you tell the driver to take Paradise, not the tunnel or the strip.

    You must be under 30.

Serious tip: Bet a quarter of your chips when you're winning. Get the math to work in your favor. If you play it right you'll double the amount of money you started with or go bust trying.

    Carrot Top is garbage.
If you want to laugh, for "cheaper," Amazing Johnathan is the best deal in town.*

*The best show in Vegas is the long-running Mystere at Treasure Island. Much better than any successors and the best show I've ever seen.
