Quote from an anonymous bartender on the Strip from when I was last in Vegas in 1993. "Live here six months are you're rid of all that time thing." He made that sound like a complete positive.

Was the bartender drinking on the job?

    Headlines in today's Review-Journal.

    "editorial-getting-rich-off-the-taxpayer"

    This editorial criticizes the Clinton's.

And this one from Ed Graney, one of the lead sports columnists:

    "if-las-vegas-stadium-deal-going-happen-it-must-happen-now"

This column is in support of the State giving up 750 million plus tax abatements for a stadium to be built by the owners of the paper.

No way to know if it was ordered up by Adelson ... but that columnist's cheerleading would fit alongside sports columnists from virtually every city that has ever had a stadium issue.

Hell, dyed-in-the-wool conservatives in the biz love public financing of stadiums and, if necessary, eminent domain

    Someone here resembles that remark.

It probably was not and I did not mean to imply that it did. I agree sports columnists are normally huge boosters of stadiums. But I did find it ironic.

But I also wonder if an anti-public funding column would run? I doubt it.
