Maybe cuz they wouldn't have made the title game this season even if they had gone unbeaten?

Schiano is not leaving Rutgers at this point.

The Miami job is a lose-lose situation. If you contend for a National championship, it's expected, if you don't you're a bum. The Orange Bowl is falling apart, the on-campus facilities -- weight room etc. -- are sub-standard.

Schiano signed a seven-year extension last year that should pay him about $1.3 mill (including bonuses) this year. That deal will be reworked to add more guaranteed money (more than a million) and more incentives and his plan to expand Rutgers Stadium to about 60,000 will be pushed through.

Miami is not his dream job. Penn State is!
But for now it's nice to be the King of New Jersey and the Big East.

Schiano is doing well keeping the kids in-state, kids Paterno regularly would swipe to the HV.

Jersey Pride is an oxymoron (hi spnited!) in many regards. What Schiano has done, even in a crappy Big East, is nothing short of remarkable.
