Wasn't Bill Davidson livid beyond belief at Brown for bolting a few years back?

And I can't tell you how much I enjoy seeing Michael Jordan fail again as an executive.

As important as the acquisition of Rasheed Wallace was, the Pistons wouldn't have won that title without Larry Brown.

Flip Saunders is a great regular season coach, but is absolutely atrocious in the playoffs. He's been outcoached by Mike Brown -- MIKE FUCKING BROWN -- the last two seasons. And, yet again, he's shitting the bed.

That said, I think Larry Brown ends up in Chicago.

Yes. Davidson is a hard-ass businessman and understands all about people bolting for other jobs, but Brown carrried on his job trolling right in the middle of the playoffs (which the Pistons ultimately lost). As long as Davidson is alive, Brown never returns to the Pistons.

The Pistons won the 2004 title because the Lakers self-imploded. Larry Brown and Rasheed Wallace had little to do with it. They just happened to be standing there when the Lakers shit the bed. It could just as easily have been Rick Carlisle or Flip Saunders.

Brown to Chicago makes the most sense of the present openings. Charlotte is horrible, is going to suck for the next couple seasons at least, and would require a complete top-to-bottom roster makeover in order to get the kind of players who can "play the right way" that Brown would demand (he'd probably want to keep Okafor, but he'd ship everyone else out). At Brown's age, he doesn't want to spend five years on another complete rebuilding.

Chicago at least has SOME players who could adapt to Brown's style (although as usual he'd probably want to turn over half the roster).

If Denver opens up, and the rumored trade of Carmelo comes off, the Nuggets might be a possibility too. It would be a hoot to see a sequel to the AI-LB soap opera in the MHC.
