Tim Kawakami in the San Jose Merc has a column today saying Larry and Stanford might be interested in each other. He doesn't have anybody on the record about it, but it wouldn't be totally shocking. Stanford's desperate to save face after botching the Trent Johnson thing, and Brown might like the elitist prestige of the Stanford name for a couple of years.

From what I hear of Bob Bowlsby, he and Larry Brown are a perfect match.

Have fun with that, Stanford. Hope Eldrick stays far, far away from Maples ...

Might be tough to get a coach who left his last two programs on probation past the Stanford administration, which, oddly enough, still dictates policy to the athletic department.

Apparently Stanford was willing, but LB wasn't.

He's holding out for the Leafs' GM job.

There was a lot of talk about Brown and the Providence job a few weeks ago - thank God it was filled by the time he became officially available.
