OK. The deal is done. Lance Armstrong will make his comeback beginning Jan. 20, 2009 in the Tour Down Under in Adelaide, Australia. A few weeks later, he'll ride in the Tour of California, beginning Feb. 14 in Sacramento.

What's anyone's take? Is it all overblown and no big deal? Or, is he a sports icon up there with Michael Jordan and Tiger Woods and it's front page stuff? Or, does it deserve some other level of play?

Armstrong is now fourth in the Tour of California halfway through. Don't know how many people have watched this race, as a former resident of the state it's been interesting seeing them race in the valleys, over the hills, along the coasts, in the cities and into the mountains, in rain, snow and wind. Pretty good stuff.

Today's stage was a good one. Armstrong being fourth is no big deal really, in terms of him challenging for the top spot. He is there to work for Levi. He will likely push for the top three, but unless Levi crashes out, Lance won't challenge for the GC.
