    Are you a sports editor who would enjoy covering three of the top high school sports teams in Kentucky? The Oldham Era, a 5,500 subscriber weekly newspaper centered in Oldham County, Ky., a bedroom community of Louisville, is seeking a sports editor. Oldham County is home to three high schools - Oldham County, South Oldham, and North Oldham. All three high schools play tough competition and feature a variety of teams that advance on a regular basis to state finals. The Oldham Era is the only local newspaper dedicated to covering all three high schools as well as the Derby Cup soccer event and the Ironman Louisville triathlon. Candidates must possess a bachelor's degree in journalism and have a firm knowledge of AP style. Must be proficient in the use of Adobe Creative Suite, especially InDesign, and will be expected to design The Era's sports section on a weekly basis. Should have the experience and drive to use social media and possess the flair to drive new ideas for local sports coverage. The sports editor will be expected to deliver daily news to The Oldham Era's website while developing no less than three to four pages of content for the printed version. Residency in the coverage area is required, and you must have reliable transportation.     County, Kentucky, a bedroom community of Louisville, is seeking a sports editor.
    Oldham County is home to three high schools - Oldham County, South Oldham, and
    North Oldham.

    All three high schools play tough competition and feature a variety of teams that advance
    on a regular basis to state finals. The Oldham Era is the only local newspaper dedicated
    to covering all three high schools as well as the Derby Cup soccer event and the Ironman
    Louisville triathlon.

    Qualifications
    * Must possess a bachelor's degree in journalism and have a firm knowledge of AP
    style.
    * Must also be proficient in the use of Adobe Creative Suite, especially InDesign, and
    will be expected to design The Era's sports section on a weekly basis
    * Have experience scheduling stringers
    * Experience and drive to use social media
    * Possess flair to drive new ideas for local sports coverage.

    Essential Functions
    * Working with The Oldham Era's editor, the sports editor will be encouraged to create
    new ways to increase sports coverage and deliver the best sports coverage in the state
    of Kentucky.
    * The sports editor will be expected to deliver daily news to The Oldham Era's website
    while developing no less than three to four pages of content for the printed version.
    * The ability to laugh under pressure is highly recommended, as well as the ability to
    work independently with superior results.

    The position of sports editor is an exempt salaried position
