  2. Huge night for New York.
Not so big for the New Yorker.

Deep Background is reporting that ESPN has started a magazine. More on this story as it develops.

  6. Remember when Sports Illustrated regularly appeared on these lists?

  7. That was another thing I noticed.
    No Gary Smith.

Cookie takes GE? Puke... And too much Vanity Fair for my taste.

Glad to see Glamour getting a nod, some of their reporting is excellent. Newsweek seems to have adjusted well to the 24-hour news cycle with commentary and in-depth packages.

Best part about this list? Unlike APSE, it provides links.

The most striking thing to me:

    Over 2,000,000 circulation

WINNER National Geographic: Chris Johns, editor-in-chief, for May, November, December issues.

Glamour: Cynthia Leive, editor-in-chief, for May, September, December issues.

Martha Stewart Living: Martha Stewart, founder; Margaret Roach, editorial director, for March, July, December issues.

O, The Oprah Magazine: Oprah Winfrey, founder and editorial director; Amy Gross, editor-in-chief, for February, July, November issues.

Time: James Kelly, managing editor, for June 12 issue; Richard Stengel, managing editor, August 7, August 14 issues.

I can't believe their circulations are that big.

Think of all the doctors/dentists offices that subscribe. I'm sure that alone gives those a good boost. Those are also two favorites of the PTA-type fundraising magazine lists.
