    One of those things I let the newsies handle. But in talking off the record to a friend in law enforcement, I suspect there was a debate over whether the person was brain dead or not.

    I'll only say if your one source is the kid's coach, unless that coach is also the kid's dad or a licensed medical professional, you may want to get a second one before you run with it.
