    I'm with BTExpress on this one.
    Kid made a one-stroke mistake, admitted the mistake, and still would have won by 3 or 4 strokes. So penalize her a stroke or two and give her the damn trophy.
    She won the tournament legitimately. I'm sure the first loser, er, runner-up was really proud of "winning" the title this way.

    This is just one of the many things golf does that makes no sense. No way does she deserve to lose her title.

    It makes all the sense in the world to golfers, but little sense to non-golfers or non-golf fans. One question: why do people with a casual or little interest in golf want to make it like other sports? (why can't people make noise in backswings, etc.).
    It's not like other sports. Quit trying to make it something it isn't.
