I wondered why KOTH existed for so long. Now we have to tolerate The Cleveland Show. Have seen the promos for it. Looks dreadful.

I was subjected to watching "Family Guy" on a family vacation by my nephews.

An old fashioned "test pattern" would be funnier than "Family Guy."

I'd hoped for a glimpse of John Redcorn. I know Nancy ended their affair long ago, but it would have been a nice nod to the past.

If you're interested in seeing Beavis and Butt-head again, this might interest you...

Is Highland near Arlen? Is Highland even in Texas?

I remember vaguely an interview with Judge that equated Highland to Albequerque. I don't think he meant that one influenced the other, just that they're around the same size. The show never did give us any sense of geography, other than that big hill that Beavis rode the big tire down.

I think the main reason KOTH lasted as long as it did was it's reasonably cheap to produce and it has a loyal, if small, following. I'm not sure I want 90 minutes of Seth Macfarlane every Sunday night.

There is a Highland High in Albuquerque.

And I'm going to miss this show. Didn't watch it every week, but enjoyed the episodes when I did watch. Plus, my son sort of grew up with the show. When he was little, he used to dance to the opening music, starting when Hank would crack open the beer.

As he got older, he became good at mimicry. He does an impression of Jeff Boomhauer that is dead-on nails and never fails to crack up everyone in the house.

'Criminally neglected'? It ran for 12 years. 99 percent of television would kill for that kind of neglect.

Yeah, but it got jerked around the schedule, nearly cancelled at least once (and probably more times in the boardroom) and it got afterthought promotion as part of the Animation Domination block (IT'S AN ALL NEW SIMPSONS AS THE SIMPSONS GO TO BUDAPEST AND LISA ACTS LIKE AN ANNOYING KNOW IT ALL DOUCHE then after king of the hill IT'S AN ALL NEW FAMILY GUY AS THE GRIFFINS MAKE A SERIES OF DISJOINTED 80'S REFERENCES AND CUTAWAYS THAT GO NOWHERE AND THEN THEY TREAT MEG LIKE SHIT FOR SOME REASON BUT YOU'LL LAUGH ANYWAY BECAUSE YOU'RE ALL A BUNCH OF FUCKING SHEEP AND THEN AFTER THAT IT'S AMERICAN DAD ON FOX!)

It was treated better than Futurama (which was really REALLY criminally neglected), but given what it provided the network, it deserved not to be given the late-era Drew Carey treatment.

My favorite Bobby Hill line of all time, and I can't believe it got through the censors, is from the caddy episode:

"He got up under more balls than a midget hooker."

This actually sounds like something that might have come from a Family Guy script. :)

Even with lack of promotion and shifting schedules, it ran for 12 years.
    That's a great, great run.
