Kind of a sad Drew Brees story

Apparently his mom is using his likeness in her political campaign and wouldn't respond to his requests that she stop it.

They haven't spoken in six years because he wouldn't hire her as his agent:

I thought this might be about the birthmark on his face.

Where do you think he got that from? :)

That's his version of the story, anyway.

Another case of a parent gravy-training their kids to build their egos up. It's a sad story, not because Brees is a QB, but because his mom wanted to run his life and finances, he stood up to her and said "no thanks mom."

I can't imagine not talking to my mother. Or having her stop talking to me over something as trivial as money. This is a time when you step back and realize how fortunate you have it.

    Typical Purdue alumnus behavior.

Maybe she should do a little stepping-back, too ...

Assuming the mother has good relations with everyone else in the family, which I think she does, it's possible Drew bears some responsibility for their estrangement.

I can't imagine having my agent send my Mom a letter threatening legal action.

Hey Drew, she's your mom. If she wants to highlight that in her campaign, I think she's entitled.

I was thinking the same thing, busuncle. His decision not to hire her as his agent can't be the only problem here.
