    Somewhat of an aside, but I once coached a third-grade girls softball team as a favor for a friend's mom, and we had one girl on the team who was as wide as she was tall, and just a year or so away from breaking both wrists and ankles in some weird accident...

    She tried really hard and never gave up, but could never get on base... it really broke my heart to see her struggle so hard to run to first base...
