Why would Portland make that deal? Giving up Outlaw, Frye and Jack for Harris in return?

    Bad move.

Please, if you don't realize what a great, smart and tough NBA player he is, then you either aren't watching or you are blinded by the issues with his wife.

Webster, I realize he's a great, smart and tough NBA player. All that doesn't change the fact he's been a grade-A dickhead (hi spnited!) who has passive-aggressively held the Nets by the balls from day one. He got a chance to rebuild his career and his rep in New Jersey and he's shown his appreciation by treating the Nets as well as Kobe has treated the Lakers.

Good riddance to bad trash, or whatever the saying is.

Kidd's not exactly playing scrubs now, is he? Carter and Jefferson are still playing, right?

    That's correct.

Those are two All-Star-caliber players. I know the Celtics are a gift from fucking God, but the Nets should be a lot better than 19-26 with those three players.

But Carter is a scrub because his knees are shot.

    Never got that re-signing.

    He can still play, though.

The basic problem with the Nets is they don't have enough scoring, and don't appear to play very good defense.

The NBA introduced the +/- stat this season. So far Carter is a -102, Kidd a -152 and Jefferson a -193. That could be why the teams' record is bad.

By comparison, Devin Harris is a +220 this season. To me, this doesn't look like a good deal for either the Mavs or the Trail Blazers.

Is this the same Jason Kidd who has been on only one team that's only made it past the second round of the playoffs once?

No, it's the JKidd who led the Nets to the Finals two years in a row.
