    That's sad. We've been running updates about the kid in our sports briefs section, and I never got the impression it was that serious. I don't know why I thought that, but I did. I guess I figured that if you got hit by an SUV, you either died pretty much immediately or you got kinda clipped by it and maybe suffered a broken leg or concussion or something -- that's what I thought had happened here. So sad though.
