    Covered the Derby five times. Definitely a career highlight.

    Sorry kids. Santa couldn't make it this year. But he said you could expect something from the Louisville airport in about 5 1/2 months.

    Shit. My portion of that six-person box was going to cost more than I've spent on any outing, including hotel rooms, flights and drinks.

    It's a painfully tough ticket, if you actually want to see the race from a reasonable vantage point.

    The Masters is tougher . . . good Super Bowl seats, probably, yeah . . . but it's tough.

    Actually, the elements-exposed backless reserved grandstand seats in the upper stretch aren't bad, and are markedly cheaper, but you're gambling on the elements, big-time, and the
    quality of the people-watching goes down, appreciably.
