    If I was still in the biz I would go for this job in a heartbeat. Lexington is a great town. The SID staff at UK is very solid. A world-class ASE and a chance to compare UK basketball crazy to Alabama football crazy. Good luck to the lucky candidate.

    These hires have a way of happening right before football season starts. It is Gannett and I doubt they would want to have someone on the payroll until the day before they have to leave for SEC Media Days.

    wonder if the latest gannett purge will affect this one? Even if it doesn't, it's yet another red flag with that company.

    One would think the last people standing at the C-J would be the college beat writers and the horse racing writer. Might not be anyone to edit, paginate, print or deliver their stuff, but oh well.
