Yeah, our hockey writers, and most of the ones in town, finally cottoned onto that rather obvious disclaimer in today's editions. They should have asked me. :)

When I saw the topic headline, I thought to myself "Shit, there's going to be a lot of crap about how Dryden's really an asshole in real life." Glad to know he's not.

Leafs actually did retire Ace Bailey's number 6, but he personally asked Ron Ellis to wear it when Ellis was coming up. Leafs could also get away with retiring Ted Kennedy/Norm Ullman number 9 and Borje Salming's 21, just to name two more.

Retire Sawchuck's jersey as a Leaf? Michael Palmateer did more as a Leaf...

Forgot about Salming. Who was # 9 in the '66-67 season? Duff?

    One I'll add: #17 - Wendel Clark

  8. How'd this turn into a thread about the goddamned Maple Leaves.

I thought Duff wore 8, but that may have been as a hab. Personally thought Clark was an overrated player on some bad Leaf teams. If you're scratching for Leaf numbers to retire, maybe Red Kelly's number 4 goes up too

  10. Dammit, enough with the Leaves already.

    Absolutely agree.

Leafs fans (well, maybe not this year) have never warmed to Sundin the way they did to Clark who was pretty much the Darcy Tucker of his time.

    Kelly's a good one.
