So fucking what? So whatever John Madden says must be true? Gee, wasn't John an AFL coach in the pre-merger era? Yep, sure there's no bias going on there. Did John bother to explain why Namath threw so damn many picks, has such hideously awful numbers, or why he lost so much more than he won? Sound to me like nothing more than additional evidence as to how obscenely overrated the guy is.

Anderson wasn't even chosen for the Pro Bowl in his record-breaking passing champion season of 1974. He just didn't capture the imagination, not a sexy pick, then or now. You wonder what a different market might have done for him.

Where is Ken Stabler in this debate?
He finished with more interceptions than touchdowns, but he was one of the best quarterbacks of the 1970s on one of the best teams of that decade, has a ring and very respectable yardage totals for the era.

Does anyone here think the Raiders, Cowboys, Miami or Vikings are the dominant team of the 1970s if they had Kenny Anderson replacing who they lined up over center?

    Yes, quite possibly.

    Which one?

    I think so.

Bradshaw was the difference in the two Super Bowls between the Cowboys and the one versus the Rams.

I don't know, I don't have a magic "what would've happened" crystal ball. But, for example, he would've been a definite upgrade for the Raiders, which might've meant a couple more Super Bowl titles, considering they just barely missed out a few years there.
