I think there was thread on here a while back about KC however I can't find it.

4 of us are doing a road trip from Canada to KC for a Chiefs game in October. While I am not a Chiefs fan, going to KC was the only way we could get the most whipped guy to go on a road trip.

Ideally we would like to catch a college football game on the way down.

Is there decent tail-gating around Arrowhead on game days?

Also given that KC is supposed to have great BBQ where are the places that we should check out?

Any must sees for KC on a hungover Monday before we drive home?

Which weekend are you going to KC?

And where are you driving from?

Wait, you guys are going on a roadie from Canada to the US and the city you choose is Kansas City?

Why not just leave the whipped guy at home?

Well that makes sense since there is only one road in Canada.

Lots and lots of tailgating in KC. Tons of land/parking around Arrowhead. They do tailgating right in KC.

We went a couple of years ago to check out the Royals' stadium. We're trying to visit every stadium and had kind of joked that we didn't know when we'd ever get to KC, but we were planning to take a vacation and looked at the cities we had left to visit and picked KC because it was the cheapest to fly to. We wound up having a really good time. The Negro Leagues Museum is there, which was an entertaining afternoon. Lots of good restaurants throughout the city. There are some sweet casinos, with Ameristar getting my vote for the best. We were there during horse racing season, so we went to The Woodlands and watched some races.

We are driving from Winnipeg (our hometown)

Two of us are flying from other parts of the country to do the drive.

Whipped guy is worth the effort even if he is the whiped guy.

    Planning the weekend of Oct19.

Stay at the Holiday Inn Express in Westport. Walk across the parking lot to the flea market building. Inside, there's a bar that serves the best burgers in KC.

Your lunch will come with a free side of flies.

Negro Leagues Museum is cool, but the Jazz Museum next door is even cooler, IMO.

What he said. As for tailgating, KC is 1-2 with Green Bay.. but I'm a bit biased. Get there early, bring plenty of beer, and enjoy.

Bryant's and Gates are must-eats. I'm a Bryant's guy, but you can't go wrong with either. The Negro Leagues Museum is fantastic, and I just visited the college basketball HOF/Experience next to sprint center for the first time last week. Both are great, though not sure if they're open on the weekends.
