Kansas AD meets with football team about Mark Mangino

    "Relevant"? Really?

    I'm not saying he didn't do a good job and is not a fine hire, but it's not like Buffalo was emerging as some sort of football power. He beat one team with a winning record this year: 6-5 Gardner Webb, and two teams (Gardner Webb included, I think, though my counting may suck) with winning records in the last three years.

    Hey, starting from near scratch like he did, that's fine. But let's not get carried away proclaiming the heights to which he carried the program.

    As far as Kansas is concerned, I think the best thing he has going for him is his ties around the conference, and most obviously to Texas.

    Taking Buffalo to the MAC title and bowl game is nothing short of a minor miracle.
