Did anyone ask Shady what he thinks about Chip?

    Kelly handled that perfectly.

Sort of a weird Kelly/Kaepernick dynamic brewing here. New coach comes in and benches former starting quarterback--seemingly wrecking his playing career--yet appears will be remembered for his steadfast support of said QB. Is there anything else to compare that to?

That said, I still think this story is being blown obscenely out of proportion. I personally couldn't give a shit if a backup QB stands, kneels, sits or squats during that pregame ritual. But the national media world keeps telling me it's a big deal ...so I guess it is.

So it's not a big deal and everyone should ignore Kaep?

    Kelly didn't bench Kaep.

Correct. But he kept him on the bench.

So? He also kept him on the tram.

My guess is Kaepernick is starting by Week 5 (which would be the Thursday night game). Gabbert misses more receivers downfield than Kaepernick does. It won't be long before Chip has to make that move.

    Gabbert is better than Rodgers!

He also misses more defenders than Kaepernick does.

Nah, not really. Interceptions have never been Kaepernick's problem. It has been his unwillingness to throw at all, not his willingness to throw to the other team.

Gabbert as the 49ers' starter has a higher INT % than Kaepernick ever did.

Well, if Kaepernick does return to the starting lineup, it'll be an early Christmas for the Bay Area media.

I mean, it wasn't really a big deal, and only is because people didn't ignore him. Shoot. People didn't even notice him doing it at first.
