How much of a precedent is there for MLB players causing themselves season-ending injuries while assaulting their own family members?

Mets would be happy to keep him if he made only a million bucks.

More likely, if he was the type of player to make only $1 million, he wouldn't be worth putting up with any shit for.

    Dumb.

Kendry Morales makes $1.2 mil. Shaun Marcum make $850K. Evan Longoria makes $950K. Jason Heyward makes $400K. Etc, etc.

Try again. Even the Mets would outright release him if he were costing them a mere million.

He is much farther into his career than those guys. But hey, don't let reality keep you from making stuff up.

No need to try again. It's all about the salary.

K-Rod was on the mound the moment he came back from that suspension. Mets sure weren't worried about getting rid of him til it turned out he had hurt his thumb.

    Those salaries aren't made up.

Because hurting himself during the incident is part of the reason they are getting rid of him. So is the incident itself. Is the salary a factor? Maybe. But if he was healthy and pitching well, they wouldn't care about the money.

The salaries aren't the part that you made up. Your "insight" into the Mets' thought process, however, was.

None of those players signed their current deals after playing six years and reaching free agency.

If Rodriguez had this much MLB tenure, and was making $1 mil as a fungible middle reliever, you can bet every cent you have and then some that the Mets would have dumped his ass.
