He used to be married to an older woman, I thought.

    Whatever happened to her?

Stumping for a colleague, Lisa Olson blasted this one out of the park:

They don't have to worry about suspending him.

He's done for the season with a torn thumb ligament, probably suffered in the fight.

According to statement released by Mets is was sustained during the fight. Will have surgery and never again be seen at Citi Field. They'll find a way to unload him in the winter

Anyway they will try to and/or be able to get out of paying him what he's due for the rest of the season?

Maybe they can trade him to Kansas City for Kevin McReynolds.

Appears as though they're looking into at least voiding the remaining two full seasons of the deal: http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2010/baseball/mlb/08/16/mets.rodriguez/index.html?eref=sihp

Well done by Lisa - as usual. Thanks, Moddy.

How bad was this? When Carlos Beltran, of all people, is belting you in front of the media, someone screwed up.

This being the Mets, though, they'll end up signing him to a six-year, $130 million extension.

Jim Hendry just found a way to unload Carlos Zambrano...

Hendry could have unloaded Zambrano to the Mets last month for Ollie Perz and Castillo ... bad contracts for bad contract. He refused because he didn't want Castillo's $6.5 mill for next year
