Does Myles Brand have authority to pre-approve every personal interaction?

Well then bust out the truthiness. What makes Wooden such a phony?

  4. Please google "Sam Gilbert UCLA" for details.
The LAT -- by Mike Littwin and the late Alan Greenberg -- aired out this dirty linen 20 years ago.

Anybody who thinks Wooden was a saint in his day is an idiot, but at this point unless he's in some serious potato salad, the NCAA needs to take a pass on stuff like this.

When current freshman flash Kevin Love was on his recruiting trip to Westwood, he stopped by the Wizard's house for a chat. Afterwards, Love said Wooden was the smartest man he had ever met.
The NCAA, sensing that a violation (the passing of wisdom from one generation to the next) had occurred, sent a letter of inquiry to UCLA.
Of course, if Love wasn't such a stud, maybe the NCAA would have just let it pass. BTW, the NCAA found out about it after it was reported in a newspaper. So there's another reason to kill the profession.

Another one: UCLA wanted to have Reggie Miller meet with Josh Shipp and work with him on his 3-point shooting. NCAA violation. They couldn't do it.

James Naismith. The NCAA heard he tried to change the rules himself.
