Meanwhile, over half thought Sherlock Holmes lived and breathed on this earth.

No way these results are representative. I hope not, anyway.

 

When I was in college, a survey of students at the school said that most students thought Japan was on our side in World War II and the Soviet Union was on the Germans' side.
Logical mistakes, but still mistakes.

 

Clement Attlee was the PM when the UK won the war! Winston Churchill wasn't even real!

 

Trust me, there's little I find pride about in my home country nowadays.

The vast bulk of the population have become uncouth, illiterate slobs. The political parties take back-handers like there's no tomorrow. And nobody seems to care.

 

Sad to see the land of Hope and Glory descend thus.

 

That is absolutely shocking ... of course, I do know a girl in California who thinks MLK was a president.
