Just what the world needs...a shotgun Taser

Tom Smith, the founder of the company was testifying before a Parliamentary committee looking into Taser related deaths. With a straight face Tom claimed that no deaths in Canada had been caused by the weapon. Wow.

The shotgun-launched Taser's jolt would be similar to the shock from the wired weapon. But unlike the wired device, which can arc 50,000 volts through up to five centimetres of clothing, the longer-range Taser darts would have to pierce the skin.]The shotgun-launched Taser's jolt would be similar to the shock from the wired weapon. As if there aren't enough problems already.

Maybe instead of Tasers, they should equip the cops with these:

Just add a few drops of sulfuric acid to the water and you're set.

I am the biggest Liberal you will ever see, but I see no problem zapping an idiot that runs from the police.

Running from the cops should be a year in jail.

    No. Questions. Asked.

How about slinking away or sauntering? 60 days?

Funny, but high speed car chases and when an officer says stop the other person turns and sprints away, IMHO should carry a heavy penalty.

If they do a Andre Rison or Merton Hanks duck walk, no charge.

Agree on a hefty penalty for driving away at high speed. I always pull into a dark driveway and turn off my lights.

Maybe they were running away because they knew the cops were going to kick the shit out of them.

In a majority of the Taser cases, the cops were either too lazy or too stupid to diffuse the situation without resorting to 50,000 volts.

And they can't just shoot some guy who's not being co-operative.

When in this country (or Canada) did it become ok to not cooperate with the police?

When in your life did you ever think you were about to get beaten up by the police? Seriously.

I've thought that probably 5-6 times, sheltered boy.
