Finally took the plunge and ordered the 64 GB version.

Any and all recommendations on apps, extras (I have the magnetic cover/case coming, too), tools and tips would be appreciated.

Looking forward to its arrival Wednesday.

I just won one through work, but I have to wait a few weeks to get it... I will be curious to see what the tips are. I can't wait to get it.

Get a couple of extra power cords, including the 6-foot version, so you can have them on hand anywhere you're at. One for home, one for the office, etc. And the 6-foot version makes it easy to recharge the iPad while you're lying around using it.

Pro Tip: Just because porn will now be available in more places than ever doesn't necessarily make it appropriate in those places.

I went with this one because it has a shoulder strap and a pocket...replaced my briefcase.

    1. Keep microfiber cloths in multiple rooms/locations if you're OCD about smudges like me.
    2. Get the VLC app, so that you can load any video you want on your IPad independently of ITunes' limited system.
    3. Don't load the thing to within a few megabytes of the device's capacity if you want it to work like it does on Apple's commercials.
    4. Don't bring it into rooms with tile floors. You think you're responsible. You think you'll never drop it. You are wrong.

I still have my version one and still love it.
Bluetooth keyboard case - very good idea
    Evernote app

If you play guitar, check out the Amplitube apps. They are fantastic.
    Also, GarageBand and MusicStudio.
I use the Kindle and Nook apps, all the time. Frankly, the Nook app blows and is very buggy, but somebody gave me a B&N gift card, so I got the app. so I could get books with the gift card.

I live in Florida so have mostly tile floors. Last week I was sitting at my desk talking on the phone and was sort of aimlessly moving my iPad around the desk when ... Oh shit ... I knocked it onto the tile floor and the magnetic cover caught on something and slipped off. I was very lucky. One corner is dented. The black border part o f the screen is a little cracked but it hasn't spread. Everything still works. If it had fallen just a little differently I would be looking at major damage.

I don't have a ton of apps but I love my iPad, especially when traveling. I no longer need to either lug my laptop or try to work on my tiny phone screen.

    "No, it's a carry-all."

That's a sweet bag - I got the sleeve so I could put it safely in a bag I already own. Or just carry it around in when I'm only taking the pad and nothing else.
