    The Thibodaux phone book is interesting, though. About 10 or 12 surnames cover the gamut pretty much.

    A dear friend weighs in:

    I don't think Nicholls intended either Nazi or Red Army. Some people do see only what they want to see. But other people see what their frame of reference allows them to see. (boldface mine, not hers)

    As always, she says it better than I did.

    She adds:

    This is ugly.
