    That is a great story. Too bad more kids in her position aren't able to follow suit. There's plenty of deserving youngsters out there.

    Shit, when I was in fifth grade, I sure as heck wasn't thinking about college. All I cared about was sports and playing video games.

    This girl's got her priorities straight. Here's hoping 12 years from now or so that we'll be reading about her college graduation. Great story.
     
  10. What if she gets to be 17 and, say, Harvard or MIT offers her a potful of money?
    Tough call.
    I hope this becomes a regular deal at universities around the country. Hell, a lot of them are saying the same thing to 10-year old basketball players now.

    I would think that she would remember what they offered her a long time before she was on Harvards or MIT's radar. Hopefully for her she has that option
