They also used to sell candy door-to-door for their "church".

I agree that these bastards will never pay a dime. Phelps is/was a lawyer. He knows his stuff.

I still think when Phreddie dies (anyone else think he had some gay experience in his life?) people should picket his funeral with signs that say: "God hates assholes". Or "Thank God for dead assholes"

This is why somebody needs to go the ball-bat route. Once you're in a body bag, you can't win no more lawsuits.

Oh, that's obvious. That's Psych 1001 stuff. To get THAT worked up about homosexuality...he's got to have a collection of hardcore gay porn that's second to none. And you know when he plows Mrs. Phelps, he's picturing some young dude's ass.

    Just curious here:
Would the Chicago Tribune refer to the KKK as a "Christian group"?

Probably not. Would the KKK also claim to be part of a specific denominational church like Westboro Baptist does?

Aside from the reality that they are a Christian group, their group is the Ku Klux Klan. As such, they are referred to as the Ku Klux Klan. Christianity isn't their primary basis for existence which is different from the Westboro Baptist Church.

There are people that would argue that Falwell, Robertson, etcetera aren’t real Christians. They would, of course, argue back that they are more Christian than others (maybe not Falwell because he’s worm food).

Christianity has one rule: Jesus. Outside of that, well, any quack or weirdo can claim to be a Christian basing their belief structure on whatever portion of the Bible they want to.

I don't know exactly what seperates a Baptist from a Methodist or whatever, but I thought I heard that there was nothing Baptist about these clowns except the name.

These folks are despicable, but I still don't see how a jury could rule this way. They are best ignored and shunned.

That explains Ann Coulter, I guess.

A viral strain of mutant syphlis explains Ann Coulter, the followers of Jesus may have their faults, god knows, but don't blame them for Mr. Coulter.

If one is going to claim to follow the teachings of Christ, wouldn't one have to, you know, follow the teachings of Christ?
Sorry. This just does not cut it.
The media are too lazy on this kind of thing, which also includes the use of the term "holy war" (no such freaking thing).
Saying the words "I believe in Jesus" does not make you a Christian, not when you spend your days on the streets spewing hatred.
