Judge who ordered the name change has been fired. And, of course, the decision was reversed on appeal.

Oddly enough: In all, there were 762 applications for boys named Messiah in 2012, more than double the 368 applications made in 2011, the Social Security Administration said.

Nevaeh might have been 30-something from the SSA. But it was No. 1 for babies being tested on Maury.

    Trust me.

Unless I read the thread too fast, it could be much worse...

The kid could have been named Adolph Hitler, Rommel, Hons Heinrich. Or the girl could have been named Eva Braun, JoyceLynn Aryan Nation, or Honzlynn Jeannie.

An addition to the Head-Scratching Decisions by Judges file:

The district judge who set a $1 million bond for the man accused of killing a Pittsburgh police dog last week said that he set the amount that high -- at least in part -- because he considers the victim, Rocco, a German shepherd, to be a police officer.

Not really a head scratcher. Police dogs, and police horses for that matter are considered police officers. Every once in a while, you hear of some nut fighting a police dog and getting arrested.

They are. This guy also assaulted two other police officers during the arrest, and he is a unregistered sex offender. He's lucky a bond was even set.
