Journalists sleeping with their subjects

Straying outside the newsroom for this one: We had an advertising sales rep who was banging one of her clients in her car one night in the newspaper parking lot. I found this out because the security guards were laughing hysterically while watching it on one of their monitors. They said it happened sort of regularly with that sales rep. Happy Hour bar was right across the street. Guards could zoom in on individual cars with the overhead cameras.

The editor/editorial page writer at I paper I worked at was the live-in lover of one of the three county commissioners.

But she refused to let the sports writer eat at the pro team media buffet on game day because it would comprise their objectivity about covering the game.

She actually told them that with a straight face.
