So what's the correct worldview in 2020? The one that preserves the current administration or one that takes him and his klan to task?

Certainly not as it relates to journalists, no. Nor I, for that matter.

I'm making the point that expressing that view, as a working journalist, puts you in a club of people who get it.

I don't care what anyone tweets as long as it's not racist garbage.

Sometimes I wonder what the last thing the last MySpace user was posting about, and imagine Twitter ending the same way.

The minute Trump loses it’ll have a lot less juice to it.

There won’t be anything for Aaron Rupar and Daniel Dale to do.

True. They will have done considerable public service. Their work might help save lives. Damned libruhls.

Alma, I agree Dale is a wasted role but that opinion has been frostily received.

If someone wants to pay him to do that, and someone needs to consume it by now, then have at it. (I see the lies are now being published in book form).

We need an 'Era of Good Feelings' and Twitter would be a nice place for some of that to start.

Twitter without Trump will be a much quieter place.

The same may be true of politics in general.

You make that sound like a bad thing.

No, it’d be a good thing. It has to happen. Has to. Trump is a massive obstacle to any peace or progress in America. Voters need to vote him out and they will.

    Alma-

I need to not know who the junior senator of South Carolina is. I think it would help a lot of people if this became 'boring' again.

One of the unspoken things about the last 3 1/2 years is what a gigantic waste of time it has been.

Think of the projects that could have been hatched, books that could have been read, hobbies that could have been taken up ...

... instead of following this every fuckin day for 1,000-plus days.

My wife’s grandmother is going down with the Trump ship, and she posted something on Facebook yesterday about how the virus is just a way to get Trump out and socialized medicine in. All I can think of is how she’s wasting her last years on this.

Not sure how to square this with being a stickler for facts or objectivity or truth.

Aren't they performing journalism's most basic function?
