Judith Czelusniak, a spokeswoman for Bloomberg News, confirmed today that Mr. Quinn was on assignment for her company. β€œHe was hired for that assignment, and there are no more assignments scheduled,” she said.

He won't be getting any freelance assignments anytime soon.

Omigosh!!!! God forbid anyone heckle or speak any sort of critical word at Barack Obama.

Yup, just let the media continue coddling this guy and throwing him softballs.

Hey, if you want to shout anyone down, you belong at a McCain rally, right???!!! Now in that case, it's just ducky.

Please leave Barack alone---he's got a world to run.

A journalist should not be interrupting a speech -- even a speech by a Republican.

If this was just some guy in the audience -- that's a whole different story. He's just be typical anal loudmouth.

    Heckling isn't the issue.

It's the fact that the heckling came from somebody attending ON A PRESS PASS.

It can't be any worse than the allegedly credible press sitting in at White House press conferences who are there only to draw attention to themselves and dig at Bush beyond what is necessary to get a good story. Critical, confrontational journalism is certainly, fine, necessary, but those idiots in coats and ties seated at White House media briefings are no better than that jerk (and possible plant) giving Barack someting to chew on. These days, having a press credential and access doesn't make you credible, regardless the setting and business aparel.

OK, it was a good thing I didn't have any money riding on that bet that he was a plant. I was really hoping no one with a credential around his neck would have disrupted an event he was there to cover. Sad.

So you are the arbitrater on how many/what kinds of questions are necessary to make a good story?

It's too bad ol' softy W sets himself up for this type of media torture by having so many press conferences and going into so much more detail than is necessary all the digetty damn time.

So, just to be clear ...

Yelling from the back of the room to interrupt a candidate's speech = good
Asking tough questions of the POTUS = bad
