    Although its an old list (from 2005, I'd expect better from CJR) go to this site and selection "Journal Register Company" from the pull-down menu for a full list of the daily and weeklies they owned at the time:

    Not surprisingly, it was Michigan that got hit with the mass layoffs. Bobby J has been blaming the entire state of Michigan for all of JRC's financial problems.

    What's with the band-aid on that dude's face? Do they physically beat up their photographers too?
    He looks like he's in pain, makes me want to submit a resume!!

    Just wanted to let you people know that my management style consists of only pointing out mistakes - not giving people pats on the back for good work. I've stated that many times, on the record. Also, if I gave you people raises, then I wouldn't get my year-end bonus. Also, I never want to see the word "plucky" in a headline, because if I don't know what that word means, I'm sure our readers don't, either.

    Also, I wish my staff would take more pride in their work. I could bring my sister in and she would do a much better job proofreading and writing headlines.

    "Journal Register Company offers challenging opportunities for those interested in pursuing one of the nation’s largest publishing companies."

    I'd say there's a few on this board who have made the most of those opportunities, though JRC doesn't appear to make it real "challenging." ;
