    The world turned on jorts pretty quickly. As recently as 2008 or 2009 they still seemed acceptable. Cool even. Now? You might as well where a thong with a smiley face on the crotch.

    They first came out in the early 90s. Everybody was wearing them. Anybody making fun was probably a hipster douchebag trying to usher in the triumphant return of bell bottoms.
    If not cool, they were at least prevalent into the middle of the 00s. Doesn't seem like cargo shorts really became the trouser of choice until at least 2003 or 2004, and there were a couple years in there where you could go either way and not look odd.

    Jorts and cut-offs are two entirely different fashion statements. I'm not sure that photo applies here.

    I will cop to owing a pair of jorts. Once.

    Of course it was 20 years ago and I was living in Arkansas.
