Surprised he's willing to be that far from a MLB team.

It's a lock he writes 834783736465598 words about the move at some point.

That appears to be the short version up above.

One of the things I like about SI is that its reporters live all over the place and come with different perspectives. They aren't all within driving distance of NY or Boston. Too bad about the move - I though JoPo wrote many stories that probably wouldn't have seen the light of day if he wasn't in KC.

Shouldn't this be in the latest moving thread on the "Anything Goes" board? There isn't anything I haven't already read in any other farewell column.

Posnanski is taking his talents to Charlotte. Sad loss for Kansas City.

But what sort of professional benefits come from a move to Charlotte? It's obviously the hub of NASCAR, got a few colleges and the Panthers, but Posnanski rarely write about racing, more pro teams in KC and better colleges in the area.

It really doesn't matter where he lives. SI didn't hire him for an inside look at sports in the KC area.

What's the problem? Plenty of flights available at Douglas ...

He probably has really good reasons for making the move and will be happy 99 percent of the time, but take it from somebody who's been there, when he goes out for BBQ he'll think - even if it's just for a second - he made a mistake.
