Maybe I am too sensitive, but yes I cried.

I cried because there were people in those buildings.

I still cry about 9/11 today.

I'm sure I am not the only one.

Wives, husbands, mothers, fathers, sons, daughters, etc. were taken from our planet.

    Family.

    That I cane relate to.

To say one doesn't waste tears on 9/11 is just plain cold.

There may have even been a dog or two that died that day.

Those that didn't cry over 9/11, that is fine. No one said everybody should have been in front of their TV weeping.

But to pubicly downplay the pain others felt and are still feeling is unethical, immoral and disgusting.

Interesting approach, one that many will criticize but also one that he explains. The last two grafs aren't strong, but that doesn't take away from the overall point.

    god.

    "Miss you, Bart. Every day."

Worst line I've read this year.

  4. I once had a boss who laughed at everyone's misfortune, including mine. Would literally go on for hours making fun of crazy relatives and my coworkers. Would even laugh at some of the tragic stories I had for him that day.

Then one day the mean old bastard's in tears - his dog died.

I spent half the afternoon consoling him.

  5. When politicians are throwing around 9/11 like a fucking campaign catchphrase, it's easy to become desensitized to the whole mess.

  6. Unethical? Immoral? Disgusting? I don't think so.

    Pubicly? Definitely don't think so.

Guess when Petraus is set to appear before Congress and testify about how things are going in Iraq?

it tis a shame racism such as hatred for a black athlete is enough to cloud thy judgement on the tragedy of September 11th.

I don't see how he's downplaying the pain of other people.
He's expressing how he handled 9/11 on a personal level. I don't recall seeing anyplace in the column where he said how other people should have responded.

More than 50 pit bulls seized from Michael Vick's property face a Thursday deadline to be claimed. If no one comes forward, they could be euthanized.

I can see the Las Vegas headline now "Holocaust all over again"
