Maybe there is a god after all. Coaches who pull that chickenshit kicker-freezing time out play deserve to have bad things happen to them.

    A Joe Gibbs blunder?

  3. No doubt about it, I gotta get another hat.

It's a rule and Gibbs broke it, but it's a stupid rule. If you have timeouts left, you should be able to call them, regardless.

Hasn't he had enough bad things happen to him already this week?

The bad thing happened to his team's defensive back, not him.

It's also stupid to allow coaches to call timeout in the NFL.
Besides, do we really want a thread about the stupid rules in football?
I hate the pass interference rules, until the ball's in the air DBs should be able to hit the hell out of WRs. Moss & Owens wouldn't catch a pass past the 2nd quarter.

The dumbest rule in the NFL is the "force out" rule.

Why even have it? If the receiver gets two feet in bounds, its a catch. If he doesn't, it's not. Anywhere you can eliminate ref judgement, you should.

Maybe Gibbs needs to add Sonny Jurgensen to the coaching staff. I understand that BEFORE the second timeout was called, he was on the Redskins radio network saying that they better not call the second timeout.

Good for Sonny, then. I'd have expected him to still be babysitting Sam Huff. In fact, I'm sure he's STILL explaining just what happened to Huff.

Joe Gibbs is the Rich Kotite of clock management.

He can co-coach with Billy Kilmer.
