Apparently we're all assholes for pointing out the truth.

  3. No, he's going to convince the Sudetens -- I KNOW they're not called that -- that it's time to come together and move forward.

Some of the comments after the link were pretty intense.

  6. Good question.
I know Vaclav Havel lurks here. Let's ask him.

Wow. Bush Godwins the election before the Democratic nominee is officially settled. That's got to be some sort of record.

But he's just here to get the hockey gossip and pick up some tips on the inverted pyramid. Let's not pester him.

This thing would have blown over if Joe Biden had not come out with his grand pronouncement. Thank you Joe.

Clearly Bush was taking a shot at Jimmy Carter and his meeting with Hamas. Said meeting caused great consternation in Israel. He is carter op ed fro the Times:

No, Sen. Kerry, it's called what, for better or worse, will get your audience fired up. It's called playing the game of politics in 21st century America. And as much as we'd like it to be different, it's a dirty and ugly game where the appearance of warmth and likeability and (since 9/11) "toughness" is valued far more than knowledge or sophistication. You have to be willing to aggresively define yourself, instead of acting like you're too good for that sort of thing.

If you had figured that out in 2004, or if Al Gore had figured it out in 2000, we wouldn't be having this discussion now.

Karl Rove may be a scumbag, but he knows how to play the game. Whoever wins the Dems nomination, will they figure out how to do likewise?

Oh well. At least he showed his leadership by giving up golf.
