Can confirm this read, from multiple additional sources.

I've posted this on the board, but whatever.

I had taken a date to see Fever Pitch. She thought I'd like the baseball aspect of the film while she teared up over the cutesy Fallon-Barrymore love story.

That didn't happen. I hated the movie so much that I couldn't even root for the scenes where the Red Sox beat up on the Evil Yankees. Instead, I was hoping for an Act of God to end the film early. Didn't happen.

About 18 months ago, give or take, I saw Fallon on a NYC street. I walk up to the goofy tool and ask him for my $20 back.

After he stared at me like I was a lunatic--and, to be fair, I am--I shouted, "You suck, Jimmy Fallon" as I walked away.

I don't buy this story for a second. I mean, come on -- you had a date? ;D

What, you don't think I have a winning personality?

Oh, quite winning. It was just too fat a pitch not to swing at.

True. It was an Aaron Heilman hanging slide, wasn't it?

C'mon! I've SEEN him pull provably, demonstrably hot chicks 18-35. They really dig the Adam Graves jersey.

Now, if it were Mikey telling the story, no way in hell I'd believe it. ;)

That was actually a pretty asshole-y thing to do. What if someone walked up to you in the street one day and started screaming at you about the story that ran in whatever newspaper that morning?

Christ, don't some people have enough assholes in their lives? You have to be another one?

I liked Fever Pitch. I saw it in the theater, and I even bought it on DVD.

Tried to read the book, couldn't get through it.

    Deal with it.

I liked it, too. And I normally loathe Drew Barrymore.
