    The GI Bill created the modern American middle class. This included my family. Good on the rookie for doing this.

    My pops also went to college on the GI Loan, and also bought his first house with another assistance program for vets.


    A good deal back when teachers were making about 3K a year.

    It's a great bill that's sure to have a lot of support, but it's also going to be a very tough pass just because the 'cost' of it is so high. Even though the WWII GI Bill paid for itself over five-fold, when they're budgeting for things this year, they don't factor that sort of thing in.
