Wasn't aware of this (Husky news doesn't make it down this way very fast) but thanks for the heads up. Someone please give details when you hear them.

 

I predict I will not understand every third word out of his mouth.

 

Calhoun: I would (inaudible) to thank (inaudible) for coming (inaudible) today. I (inaudible) to announce (inaudice) as of (inaudible), I am (inaudible) as coach (inaudible) today.

Reporter: Excuse me, coach?

Calhoun: I am (inaudible) as coach.

Reporters murmur. Rumors fly, Fozzie Bear gets a hard-on.

More precisely: This will be a UConn press conference IN REFERENCE to Calhoun.

Hmmmmm.

 

It's a little late to have a presser for that loss to the University of San Diego in the first round of the tourney.

To be honest, though, I hope it's nothing serious.

 

Haven't heard any rumors up here; the only things I can think of unfortunately are health related.

 

It's being held outdoors, which hopefully means nothing serious.

Contract extension? [/fanboy's fingers crossed]

 

I remember those first few interviews when Calhoun came to UConn. God. Once for a quick phoner I tried to just take notes on my computer screen. I'd taken a lot of dictation in my time (pre-laptop) but I had no chance of keeping up with him.

Actually, I always liked Calhoun back in the day. Hope everything's OK with him.

 

Speculation on UConn messages boards is he's going to take a year off because of health issues. Guess we'll know in a few minutes.

 

Bill O'Neill? Our deceased former Governor? ;D Not sure who you're thinking of.

George Blaney might be in line for that.
