    His wife ain't talking:

Since he's been under investigation, wouldn't it be great if he ran off to a country that won't extradite him?

Maybe he'll turn up in Zug, Switzerland, with Marc Rich. He got a two week head start.

So his wife is a crooked politician too? Didn't know that.

Local radio says the rumor is that he tried to take his own life.

"those people who have prayed to our family."

    Freudian slip?

I guess the suicide rumors were enough to smoke out Jesse Jackson Jr.:

Anyone who would use this as a negative can get fucked. And I'm not the biggest JJR fan in the world.

The man has a problem, recognized it and is seeking help. He should be commended. And I wish him the best of luck.

I agree, but he handled it terribly.

That's the thing. He could've come clean about being in rehab weeks ago, and people would have been understanding. Patrick Kennedy was in rehab and the hospital a couple times and still got re-elected.

Didn't JJ already win his primary? Or maybe he was worried the local party would boot him off the ticket (unlikely, right?).

His office just announced he's being treated for a "mood disorder."

I have no idea what a "mood disorder" is. Sounds like a polite way to say he's an asshole.

Probably a nice way of saying depression or mental illness, since there is still a (bullshit) stigma attached to those terms.

That said, I lose my bet. I figured he was giving illegal perks to a mistress.
