I'm Jerry Lewis, I'm holding up the whole $63.7M until Giuliano apologizes to me.

I don't think he raised the money for gay people.

Meanwhile, people in the Pittsburgh market are incensed that the NBC affiliate carrying the telethon opted to stay with Jerry and his kids instead of showing any of the Mickelson-Woods matchup.

This telethons has raised gobs of cash every year, but are they any closer to a cure?
Like others, I used to watch this every year in the 1970s, but since I got older and relized how they exploit the sick kids, I now pass.

Why did Caeser's Palace dump the telethon? It used to be a big thing there. Now the thing is held at the South Point Casino? What's next Laughlin? Props to Jerry and all that, but between Eddie Mac, Jerry and Norm Crosby not a lot of young pups on the show.

There's no "cure" for cancer, but there's been significant progress. People now survive a lot of cancers that used to be fatal.

There's no "cure" that's wiped out neuro-muscular diseases, but there's certainly been progress.

As far as "exploiting" kids, nothing makes the point more strongly than seeing exactly what effects the diseases have. The other side of that coin is sending a message that says, "You stay out of sight because it would make people uncomfortable to see you." Don't think that's right, either.

I'm not saying the sick kids should stay out of sight. But I don't like the heavy-handed "send us $5 or Jimmy will die."

Where's the outrage from the illiterate groups? I mean, there's video along with the story...

    Gross overstatement.

The problem with it is, they threw it on a low-power station that Comcast dropped a few months ago,

GLAAD is demanding an apology on Jerry's comments.

Seeing the context as it was shown at CNN.com, I don't know if I can give Jerry any leeway on this one.

Calling someone "the illiterate fag" ain't great shakes.
