I tried this once before and bombed, but I guess I'll give it another shot.

For those of you who are interested, here's the transcript of last night's test, followed by the answers:

Tonight's test, I am told, will be something completely different.

FWIW, I took the first one of these they offered back in January of '06 and swore when I was finished that I got my ass handed to me.

We're talking hard-ass questions -- many of which skirted the fringes of my knowledge ... as Jeopardy questions are wont to do.

A month later, I'm in Hawaii and get an e-mail: "Congratulations... You passed the Jeopardy online test." You guys know the rest of the story.

So those of you who think you screwed the pooch... maybe you did -- and maybe you didn't.

Got 41 if they credit me for my rushed spelling of Daguerre.

I got 16 right. I'm not too good at the plays and poetry questions.

I'm hoping for 10. And for a category about pop culture or bad music.

Variences can be wild. Was right around the Mendoza line last year, and am certain I didn't break 30 on the good side, two years ago. Lotta Tuesday's stuff was in the wheelhouse, and was grateful.

I didn't think it was a monster either. Knew almost all the pop culture (except for the Time's buzzword thing), got a lot of the geography (except the deepest lake on earth -- Lake Baikal) and got a good amount of history too.

The literary stuff really f'd me, but hopefully I did well enough on the other stuff to cancel it out.
