"Jena at Columbia (University)"

Discussion in 'Sports and News' started by RokSki, Oct 11, 2007.

  1. No, Ahmadinejad doesn't do the same thing, at least not at Columbia. He was not a threat to any jewish person in the entire room. He was a man standing in front of a crowd talking. This was a clear threat of undetermined origin (or, admittedly, seriousness), levied personally against another by an anonymous being. You trying to equate them is pathetic in its stupidity, not to mention its arrogance and classlessness.

Better? Or do you want to just keep plugging your ears and throwing out poorly constructed rhetorical devices?

    Bingo.

    Here's the incriminating evidence:

Substitute African Americans with Jewish Americans. Get back to us.

You might, but that's not the general consensus. It just seems that blacks are treated like children and need to be over protected, lest their precious sensibilities would be offended. But no other group gets picked out for such paternal treatment.

Yet a lone piece of rope, hanging on a door is an imminent threat?

  5. Wait, seriously? Because the whole fucking country doesn't freak out if a swastika appears on a Temple in Podunk? Come on, just because it helps your argument doesn't mean its actually correct.

And yes, a "lone piece of rope," as you insist on calling it, is a direct threat. Boy, that sand your head's buried in must be nice.

Nice double standard you operate by there. Hate speech against African-Americans is ok, but not against Jewish-Americans.

It's my belief that someone concerned and upset about the hatred and persecution his own religion has received, might want to set an example for others to follow of not being a racist prick. But being a hateful, bigoted person can be rewarding too, I guess.

And for everyone who has made ignorant statements about whites not being safe in black neighborhoods 1) It is a gross stereotype, and 2) Next time you are tempted to say something like that, please reflect on the fact that if given the choice to live anywhere, most black people who live in slums would choose to live elsewhere. Black on black crime in slum neighborhoods is quite common. Black on white crime, not so common. So if your motive isn't to just interject a racist statement to deflect attention from the conversation we were having, the facts suggest that crime is higher in poor black neighborhoods, period, and the most likely victims of those crimes are black, not white. And that has everything to do with socio-economic reasons, not some racial defect you want others to conclude through innuendo.

Either way, you don't see lots of crime in affluent white neighborhoods because they aren't shitty, crime-ridden slums in which the majority of residents have no other options. But hey, have fun pointing out that people with few means often end up living in shitty crime-ridden neighborhoods, as if it is a character defect of some sort for the people living in those neighborhoods who would do anything to escape their shitty plights.

Nice post but the socio-economic argument for the excuse of crime is bullshit. To say being poor leads to crime is to stereotype every poor person whether they are black, white, yellow or green.

  12. It's also true dumbfuck. You go to any country in the world, highlight the area with the highest level of poverty, and that's where the highest crime rates are. Cleveland, Glasgow, Milan, Minsk, Fresno. Wherever. Find the poor neighborhoods, that's where the crime is.

Now, I don't know if you're just throwing shit on the wall to get a reaction, but it's working so congratulations.
